Hear From The Kids

Rachel E. Moore RAD BA (Hons), LRAD, Founder and Director of Little Wrigglers

Growing up in Preston, Lancashire, Rachel discovered dance at the age of five and quickly ascended through the grades of Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz at her local dance school.

After being awarded a place at the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) in Battersea, Rachel moved to London in 2003 to study the Art and Teaching of Ballet.

Graduating with honours in 2006, she worked as a teacher for the RAD in Sydney, Australia, moving back to England in 2007 to form Little Wrigglers in Teddington, and later Wimbledon.

As well as Little Wrigglers, Rachel is also an accredited dance teacher in The South East, and has been passing on her passion and experience to many children, aged 2-18 at The Suzanna Raymond School of Dance, Teddington-Hampton and her own school Charters School of Dance, Englefield Green. These schools both follow RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) and ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) syllabi in Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz.

Each week brings an exciting new adventure, from feeding animals at the zoo to having tea with the Queen; maybe the secret space mission is a mixture of both!

Little Wrigglers cannot cater for real animals or space rockets - we don't have the room! Instead, we use the limitless boundaries of our imaginations, simple dance movements, such as jumping, bending and stretching, and plenty of props. You should come along, a trip to the moon has never been such a giggle

Each and every class is bursting with fun activities while building an understanding of dance and confidence through participation and peer interaction. So, whether your child is set for dance stardom or just likes a little wriggle, everyone can have a great time learning at Little Wrigglers.

The syllabus is designed around the basic grass roots disciplines of dancing and performing arts.  Little Wrigglers can sow the seeds for a wonderful start in pre-primary dance and theatrics, while nurturing and setting the foundation for potential growth in other fields.

Our classes have been specifically developed to address young children’s cognitive, motor and effective development.

Little wrigglers classes will help your child

  • Move with increased control and coordination
  • Become physically and spatially aware
  • Move expressively
  • Express feelings and emotions through movement
  • Develop a sensitivity to music through movement
  • Stimulate their listening skills
  • Enhance their confidence and self-esteem

Can I Pay Per Week?

Yes! We totally understand that flexibility is key when you have a toddler therefore we offer themed ticketing options aimed at getting everybody Wriggling.

ADVENTURE TICKET - Pay and play classes allowing convenience in choice of classes.

EXPLORER TICKET - Secure your child's place weeks in advance with our discounted options, this will be pro-rata over the term period, however to qualify for the best prices book before week one!

Can I bring his / her siblings?

Yes, please do.  If they are old enough and keen to join in then a place should be reserved for them.

Babies are more than welcome to wriggle around on mum’s knee.  Please be aware that the class uses the whole space so just keep an eye on baby on the move!!

What should my little wriggler wear and bring to class?

Anything that’s super comfortable. Socks can be too slippery when dancing so we prefer bare feet or soft shoes.

"Rachel is kind because I like her asking questions.  I liked going to Cornwall best, on holiday, in one class"

 Amelia, aged 3

"I like what colour is it?  I like doing jumping, going on train rides and doing butterflies.  I like doing caterpillars and airplanes.  I like my teacher.  I like choosing shapes and I like to go clip clop and tie ponies."

Rosheen, aged 3

"I really love dancing around with the hoola hoops and Rachel always lets me pick my favourite colour, BLUE!"

 Olivia, aged 2
